We’re all guilty of sleeping in our makeup. Some more than others but as much as I hate to admit it, I’ve been extra guilty lately. I ran out of makeup wipes and I’ve been too lazy to go get more…but that shouldn’t be an excuse. We all know what sleeping in your makeup does to your skin so this is what I do to renew after committing skincare crime.
remove makeup
I start by removing any leftover makeup with a makeup wipe or this micellar water before washing my face. Bioderma has three awesome micellar waters designed for sensitive skin, oily skin and dry skin. They all gently cleanse and remove makeup without clogging pores.

EXFOLIATe
I exfoliate before cleansing because exfoliating can move all the dirt and bacteria around your face before getting rid of it, so if you don’t cleanse after it can cause even more breakouts. Cleansing after you exfoliate also allows the cleanser to really penetrate and cleanse more effectively.

cleanse
Next I’ll reach for the GLAMGLOW Supercleanse Daily Clearing Cleanser to avoid clogged pores. The GLAM GLOW mud to foam formula is designed to dissolve oil, makeup and impurities. I keep mine in the shower but I NEVER use hot water or let the water hit my face. High pressure and temperature will dilate blood vessels and capillaries. It’s easier for me to wash my entire face in the shower and not skimp on the cleansing.

toner
Since my skin is always dry and irritated after sleeping in my makeup, I usually skip on the harsh toners and use the Mario Badescu Rose Water facial spray. This is great for dehydrated and uncomfortable skin and leaves my face feeling refreshed after that long night of not breathing through all my makeup.

spot treatment
serums |
I use this Origins Super Spot Remover to fight all those little acne formations after sleeping in my makeup. This stuff has healed acne spots over night for me with just a small drop and you can actually feel it sucking out impurities.
Origins Super Spot Remover™ Acne Treatment Gel – $16.00 Sleeping in my makeup usually means sleeping in my contacts too, so to let my eyes relax I ditch the contacts (sometimes) and use the Sephora Collection Instant Awakening Eye Moisturizer to reduce puffiness.
Sephora Instant Awakening Eye Moisturizer – $18.00 Sephora.com Next I use the Vital Actives Vitamin C 20 Serum to say sorry to my skin for sleeping in my makeup. Vitamin C can neutralize those free radicals that your makeup was holding in while you were sleeping. I purchased mine from Marshall’s. moisturizer
Finally, to soothe my distressed skin and quench the thirst I use the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream. This moisturizer is designed to improve the skin’s natural barrier function and also defend the skin from free radical damage.
