Anyone that knows me knows I LOVE Kylie Jenner.. not to sound like every typical girl in America but I mean seriously, I love her. From her outfits to her makeup to her crazy awesome shoe closet she is living every girls dream, especially now that she has her own cosmetics line. While the whole world began jumping on the Kylie train (including me), I had the AMAZING chance to meet one of her makeup artists, Hrush Achemyan, in Chicago at her Bare to Bold learning class where we did in fact take a selfie together.
She’s actually even more flawless in real life… but anyway, she let us in on the secret that she was wearing Kylie’s True Brown K. Obviously, I had to have one. I just sat through a 5 hour class watching her do the signature Kylie look on the model and it was absolutely mind blowing so I knew this lip kit wasn’t going to be something lame with the KJ name on it.
A couple weeks later I got my first lip kit (True Brown K) after fighting how many million trillion other people on the internet for it. I was immediately hooked on it. I’m not even a lipstick person as you can tell in the picture above where there is still foundation caked on my lips from not caring at all.
WAIT… “you liked the lipstick?? You’re just paying for the Kylie name because it’s actually just the ColourPop formula.” Wrong, Kylie Cosmetics is a sister company of ColourPop and they are completely different formulas.
“So why do you even like the Lip Kit?”
Well letols let me tell you…
1. I’m a notorious lip biter…. I pick all the skin off my lips and leave them dry and cracked. Gross right? It’s cool I know you all do it too. This lipstick has helped SO much because of how long wearing it is. Normally I would throw something on and after an hour I’m back to picking, but I’ve actually had to scrub my Kylie off at the end of the day because it’s stayed so well. Which in turn has led to no more picking… I already probably eat enough lipstick as it is.
2. NO RUNNING – this is one of the best things about her formula because for me, I get up at 5-6am, leave the house and don’t get home until 6-7pm. I have little to no time in between there for a makeup touch up… literally, I’m the girl that lets my false lashes poke me in the eye all day and bother me because I seriously don’t have the time to fix it (Unless I’m in the Biggby Drive Thru line)
I can put this on and GO and I don’t have to fix it once.. not even after that Jimmy Johns for lunch.
3. Color Color Color.. Kylie has by far the best nude colors in her collection for all of us neutral gals. She has everything to choose from… CandyK – the perfect mix of brownish and pinkish, KokoK – the pinky nude, DolceK – a slightly darker caramel color, Exposed – an orangey nude and the newest shades, Ginger & Maliboo.
“Which is your favorite?”
I love all the original glosses, I’ve tried the Koko and Exposed glosses and they aren’t growing on me as well as Like, Literally and So Cute all did.
KokoK is definitely my favorite Lip Kit color though, I feel like it goes with everything. I love using CandyK on other people because it’s just the right amount of color when you’re doing a neutral look.
But in all honesty, I love them all. I’m looking forward to trying Mailboo, Ginger and the Kyshadows.
$29 is SO worth a quality liquid lipstick AND the matching liner.. especially when NARS, Smashbox and Too Faced mattes all ring in at $20 or more.
