If designer bags aren’t your thing, that’s totally ok!! If they are, stick around & read how I save for them & where I buy!
How I afford my bags is probably my most frequently asked question. For those of you who don’t know, blogging is not my full time job. I have my cosmetology license and own a salon/boutique called Studio H! I am also kind of a workaholic!
My next big way of saving is by being very mindful of what I’m spending money on!
For example, last year I knew I wanted to buy a Chanel bag for my birthday & I knew it was going to be a pretty penny, so every time I thought about buying something I stopped & said to myself, “Do I REALLY want or need this?” If the answer was maybe or I don’t know then I told myself NO! I also try not to browse anywhere, especially at stores like Marshall’s or TJ Maxx! Cutting out those “I didn’t need anything but I walked out with 20 things’ trips can help you save SO much over time! I’ve heard some people say that having a designer bag has taught them more about money & sometimes I feel like it might be true because I used to be a very impulsive shopper!
& my last tip for saving is to make small lifestyle changes!
Make a budget for your weekend entertainment, cut down on eating out, &
cut out credit cards with high interest rates!
A majority of my bags were purchased from Nordstrom! I met my sales associate a little over two years ago in Nashville & buy almost all of my designer items through them!
They always find exactly what I’m looking for & Nordstrom’s customer service is top notch!
Below are a few of my tips for buying designer!
Be mindful of your states sales tax. Like I said above, my sales associate works at the Nashville Nordstrom & I live in Ohio. The sales tax in Nashville, TN is 9.25%, in my area the sales tax is 7.25%. By having my Chanel bag shipped to OH I saved almost $100!
Open a Nordstrom Card if you know you’ll be making frequent purchases with them!
By purchasing everything from my recent trip on my Nordstrom Card & utilizing their triple points days, I was able to use those points fully pay for my Gucci Espadrilles!
& my last tip for buying designer items is to check out resale sites! I purchased my first Louis Vuitton bag & a few pairs of Louboutins from resale sites like Poshmark & Tradesy before I saved up to purchase those brands new! Get $20 off your first purchase of $50 or more at Tradesy by clicking here!
