A few weekends ago I was in Charleston, SC for the first time & I fell IN LOVE! Charleston is so cute & there is so much to do there. If you’re thinking about visiting Charleston I would highly recommend! Today I’m rounding up restaurants & things to do during your stay!

where to stay

Planters Inn – This hotel is SO charming! It was exactly what I expected Charleston to be like & it is located in the middle of everything! The staff was so friendly and accommodating & the rooms were very spacious. Southern charm meets a modern style with this Boutique Hotel! There is also a gorgeous garden courtyard alongside the hotel that houses the Peninsula Grill, described as Charleston’s Most Romantic Restaurant.

Market Pavilion Hotel – The Market Pavilion Hotel is so gorgeous. The rooms are decorated in historic Charleston style while the bathrooms are all marble & stocked with Hermes toiletries. The hotel also has two restaurants & a rooftop pool. We received a $50 voucher to their restaurant, Grill 225, when we arrived!

where to eat

Hyman’s Seafood – Hyman’s is right across the side street from Planter’s Inn. We were walking around when we first arrived & ran into Hyman’s! We were immediately seated & greeted by the owner who sent out one of their specials!
They have a large menu with options for everyone, I ordered the Crab Cake but they are well known for their grits (not my thing!)

Grill 225 –  Grill 225 is located in the Market Pavilion & is a little bit of a splurge. I ordered the Filet Oscar (which is not on their menu) & it was hands down the best Filet I’ve EVER had. Everything about Grill 225 was amazing, I even ordered the Creme Brûlée and I am not normally one for dessert!

167 Raw – This restaurant came highly recommended from multiple people we spoke to over the weekend. They only have 26 seats so we waited about 40 minutes to be seated but it was SO worth it! I ordered the one & only Lobster Roll & it did not disappoint! One of the best meals I’ve ever had!

Biggby Coffee – I was so excited that there’s a Biggby in North Charleston, it was a little bit of a drive from where we stayed downtown but nothing can beat a Biggby Coffee! The staff was so nice & welcoming when we told them we drink Biggby all the time. We felt right at home!

what to do

Shopping – There are so many places to shop downtown, from Forever 21 to Gucci to cute little Charleston Boutiques. We loved walking around downtown & exploring! I snagged some pieces from a cute boutique called Magnifique & a Charleston crew neck from a little tourist shop.

Charleston City Market – Directly outside the front doors of Planters Inn is the Historic City Market. Tons of vendors fill in every morning with anything & everything you can think of, a lot of the items are more touristy but it was still super cute & fun to check out!

Sullivan’s Island – We ran down to the beach for a few photos, the beach very clean & there were dog’s everywhere!! My pups would have loved it, we will definitely be bringing them back!
I was surprised to see how close we were to Fort Sumter, Evan was just there a few weeks before.

The Battery / Rainbow Row – The houses in Charleston are so gorgeous, we parked along Rainbow Row & walked down to the Pineapple Fountain & Waterfront Park. This is such a nice area & so great for photos!

There is so much to do but these are the main things we did/saw on our short trip! Who has been to Charleston & what was your favorite part?!
